Tell us your story! Real-life stories on the EU's Single Market

Did you work, travel or live abroad in the European Union? Did you expand your business cross-border or bought products on-line? Then YOU are the person we are looking for to share with us your experience when outside your home country.

The European Commission, together with the European Parliament and the future Polish EU Presidency have launched a competition in order to collect real-life stories of European citizens, consumers and enterprises that have made use of the EU's Single Market. The five selected winners of the competition will have the opportunity to meet all the decision makers and share their experiences on the occasion of the Single Market Forum that will be organised in Cracow, Poland on 3-4 October.

Deadline for submitting contributions is 24 June. These real life stories will serve as examples in order to kick start the discussions of the Forum. The European Commission will make a video story out of the winning entries.

European Consumer Day has been celebrated by the European Consumer Centre Slovakia among consumers, in the shopping centre in Bratislava.

European Consumer Centre Slovakia in relation to the European Consumer Day prepared information stand in shopping centre Polus City Center in Bratislava for consumers. On 15th of March 2011 the consumers had again a chance to be informed about their consumer rights directly during shopping. Moreover, they have been offered by the European Consumer Centre Slovakia’s employees information and promotion materials prepared by our centre. The fruitfulness of the action indicates the number of distributed material, mainly informative ones and it also means that the consumer interest in information in the field of consumer protection is increasing.

The most effective and distributed information materials have been the Shopping online leaflet and calendar 2011, which also includes the text part dedicated to information and advices in the field of consumer protection.
